So, who is Molly Maggott?

Hi. I'm Molly and I'm a self-published author. I live in Australia and I always complain about the weather. My favourite colour is yellow, although shades of blue and green are a close second. I have so many hobbies it is way too hard to keep track of them all (although some a quite short-lived). My all-time favourite, and comfort movie, is Jurassic Park, and the quote I love to use from one of the Jurassic World movies is from the character Dr Henry Wu: "A monster is a relative term. To a canary, a cat is a monster. We're just used to being the cat." Although the quote I always come back to is what is known as "Blood is thicker than water" the original quote is as follows. "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb."



I mostly write in the genres of fantasy, sci-fi and romance. I love to create worlds where anything is possible, a place where we can all escape. But I will warn you my work can be quite dark, falling under trigger warnings and darkness, and I believe that no good book is complete without a good death.

I read as well as write. My all-time favourite book is Alice in Wonderland and Cassandra Clare is my inspiration author. I say this as Cassandra Clare inspired me to start writing again. I stopped after some hard times in my life but now my writing has helped me through it.

The original draft (which I no longer have) was me writing down how I felt in a way I felt I could express it. At the time of writing this, I had depression, anxiety, and was suicidal, and was an overthinker, although hiding it was a skill I had mastered. I used a mask to conceal how I felt every day, my dark thoughts and longings hidden behind a smile, convincing everyone I was just fine.
